“SICILIAN MOOD” A SHOW IN DUBLIN BY LUCA VULLO

On May 16th next, WHELAN’S, 25 Wexford Street Dublin 2, will host SICILIAN MOOD, a show by Sicilian writer, director and producer Luca Vullo.
Based in London, Luca Vullo has created and produced powerful well-received documentaries, that have been recognized internationally.
Luca is the owner and founder of the Ondemotive Productions Ltd and has been working also in advertising, music videos and media education several years.
His first successful documentary was “Dallo Zolfo al Carbone“ (From Sulphur to Coal) released in 2008, a social anthropological film on the consequences of the 1946 Italo-Belgian Pact, and the life of Sicilian miners in Belgium after WWII.
As an expert of Italian gestures and nonverbal communication, Luca Vullo wrote and directed a documentary
about the Sicilian gestures titled “La Voce del Corpo“ (The Voice of the Body) in 2011 that has received
warm responses worldwide, while winning many awards. Since then, many Universities and Italian Cultural Institutes around the world have invited him for workshops, lessons and discussions on Italian body language to explore this particular ability of the Italian people.
In London, he worked as body language coach for a production of Pirandello’s Liolà directed by Richard Eyre at the Royal National Theatre.
More recently, Luca Vullo has completed filming in London a new documentary entitled “INFLUX” about Italian immigration in the UK, focusing on the hot social topic in the moment after the BREXIT.
He’s currently touring many cultural centres and Universities in the United States and Europe teaching about this unique branch of the Italian culture.
He was also invited to participate to an artist-in- residence program by the MILLS COLLEGE Oakland San Francisco to teach Italian gestures in a full immersion of 6 weeks.
Luca directed a documentary in Los Angeles about Grant Cobb, an American tattoo artist and talented painter with fire.
In 2016 Luca Vullo also received important awards for his cultural activity around the World.
In 2017 Luca starts a collaboration with TIJ Events in London organising musical events to promote Sicilian artists abroad. The first event is called “Sicilian Mood: Music, Style e Culture from the Island”.
At the moment the director is working at two new documentaries in Sicily: Dallas in Prizzi produced in Dallas (Texas) and “Ccà Semu” shot in Lampedusa and produced by University College London.
