PRESENTATION ON PIRANDELLO AND SCIASCIA AT UCD BY CONCETTO LA MALFA

Last night the Italian Society UCD hosted a presentation by journalist and author Concetto La Malfa on “Remembering Luigi Pirandello and Leonardo Sciascia” which included the screening of a 5 minute video on Pirandello’s Philosophy of Life and “Parlour Game” a teleplay he produced and filmed on a short  story by Leonardo Sciascia.
The interesting presentation was attended by  a number of students, lecturers and friends.
After the presentation the Italian Society entertained their guests with refreshments.
A graduate in economics from the University of Catania, Sicily, Concetto La Malfa has lived in Ireland for 52 years.
For many years  he was a tutor of Italian in UCD and at the Italian institute of Culture in Dublin.
As a journalist he was the Italian correspondent in Ireland for the Italian daily sport paper Corriere dello Sport of Rome and correspondent for RTL 102.5 of Milan, the largest private radio station in Italy, covering the peace negotiations in Northern Ireland.
For 31 years he was the editor of Italia Stampa,  a printed magazine for the Italian community in Ireland,  and now is the editor of italvideonewstv.net, and Italian online magazine in Ireland.
He has 10 books to his credit, namely short stories poems and two plays.  His last book is an intriguing science fiction book with the title Apocalypse Tomorrow which can be read in his website italvideonewstv.net
