On Thursday 28th June at the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin an exhibition was opened by Irish artist Carmel Mooney.
Kilkenny born, Carmel is a 360 degree painter and sculptor who has exhibited in Ireland and other places such as Rome, Venice, Brussels, London, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan.
Celtic and rural Ireland, Italy and mount Etna are the subjects of her most evocative work. As a sculptor she has produced fine works with Murano glass.
The exhibition, entitled “From Earth to Fire” will be on view until Friday 13th of July.
Present at the opening were the Italian Ambassador Paolo Serpi and Mr. Frank Cogan ex Irish Ambassador to Italy, who briefly spoke to the guests.
