I have just heard about the untimely death of Roberto Bertoni, a dear friend and a well-respected academic, who lectured in Italian all his professional life both at the Italian Institute of Culture, but primarily at Trinity College Dublin where he reached the status of Associate Professor.
I will always remember him as a gentle giant of a man, very reserved, but extremely cordial. I owe to him the presentation not so long ago at the Italian Institute of Culture of my latest book “Apocalypse to-morrow”. As a reputed writer himself with works touching on science fiction, he was quite pleased to accept my invitation to present the book.
Dear Roberto, may you rest in peace!
For the occasion we reproduce here below the video coverage of this launch presided by dear Roberto.
